What have they done???
SorrowI`m a huge fan of "life on mars". I adore this serial, because I think it was the most innovative, best written and played one, I watched for the last years.
I love the complex characters: Gene Hunt, Sam Tyler, Chris, Annie and so on... cause the don`t look like they were coming from a beauty-contest.
For exemple Annie is a bit cuddly, but she looks sweet in her own way.
And now there is an american remake from the ABC-studios. I watched a short preview of the first episode and it looks lifeless, loveless and cheap. Far too colourful, the original kept mostly in brown and earthy tinge.
I`m not a native english speaker (I know this indicates my mistakes in grammar and wordorder) but i love the different accents in the raw show. For me its more difficult to understand, but it brings a lot authentic.
I know the us-version will defused. I bet you will never hear some cusses from Gene Hunt or something else.
The show lives a lot from the great music and the stifling atmosphere. Sam feels the whole time hunted from bodiless voices from his 2007 life and the testcard-girl with her creppy clown.
I don`t figured this out, in the remake.
It only remains for me to add, its a sad day for a good show....
